Strategy. For breakfast?

Yes, strategy for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Why? Because the best companies have a plan.

Companies that embrace strategic planning outperform their competition, out earn their competition and are more likely to survive economic downturns and bouts of bad luck.  Strategy is a tool…a system like any other.  It is, without a doubt, the most important tool in any CEO’s toolbox. A company strategy that is clear can be communicated to it’s employees, getting everybody rowing the boat in the same direction. A company strategy that is well thought out gives it’s leadership amazing clarity on what needs to be done next, with a minimum of wasted time, effort and capital. All of this makes your company look like it’s moving at the speed of light to your customers, investors and competition.

Strategy sessions are hard to start. “Old habits die hard” and “Old dog, new tricks” are consistent complaints.  After the first planning session, they get easier. Once a leadership team gets used to the advantages of having a well thought out plan, nobody wants to give them up. Planning removes the drama, increases the profits and makes the climb to success a lot more fun. Who would want to give that up?

Like all things worthwhile, strategic planning takes effort, discipline and education. Facilitating strategic sessions is one of the most important jobs for a business coach and is something at which Next Level Operations excels.
